A newer update is not always better for every phone. On older or low-RAM devices (2 GB RAM), the latest version can feel slow, and occasionally a new release has a bug on a specific model. Use an older version if your phone is old or has 2 GB RAM or less, if the latest version crashes or hangs on your device, or if a feature you rely on worked better in a previous release.
Always try the latest version first – it includes security fixes, new channels and the newest features. On very old versions, some live channels and content may stop working over time because the app’s servers are updated for newer releases.
1. Uninstall the Castle version currently on your phone – two versions of the same app cannot be installed together.
2. Go to Settings → Security and allow “Install from Unknown Sources” for your browser or file manager.
3. Download the older version file.
4. Open the file from your file manager and tap Install.
5. After installation, turn the Unknown Sources permission back off – it is the safer setting.
Is it safe to use an old version? Yes, if the file comes from a trusted source. Always compare the downloaded file size with the size listed above – if it is very different, do not open the file.
Will an old version update itself? Some versions show an update prompt. You can skip it and keep using the older build, but moving to the latest version is recommended for working channels and fixes.
Will I lose my watchlist? The app is not account-based, so viewing data is stored on the device and may be removed when you uninstall. Install the new version promptly if that matters to you.
